Community supported doula training

Olivia Scobie Counselling is a generous sponsor for the Fall 2018 Maternal Support Practitioner training.

We don’t know about you, but we are having a tough time leaving the beach/mountains/pool to get back into the office! We are though, we promise… We are making sure everything is ready for our most exciting launch time… September! And that means that we are opening up the scholarship program for our next semester. We have already opened registration for our Maternal Support Practitioner (aka doula) training* & certification which starts September 13th, 2018!

As we come into our 17th class for Fall 2018, we are bursting excited about how our program has grown and matured over the years. Our training is live & online and has been built on four foundational pillars. They are: teaching excellence, cultivating community, ongoing mentorship and holistic advocacy.

Our mission is to connect women** to their intrinsic value & power. One of the ways we aim to do this is by offering the most comprehensive combined fertility, birth & postpartum doula training! Our team of instructors are diverse and fun and super interesting. Collectively we are committed to changing the landscape of birth experiences across the globe. By improving birth outcomes together, we can help deepen the connections of families and decrease the occurrence of postpartum mood disorders.

Our team offers intensive support throughout the entire process. Nervous about your first client in labour? We are right there next to you! Reach out and we will talk to you to get you ready! Not sure how to market your business? We will help you with that too!

Our doula training is so much more than providing you with the skills you will need to do doula work. It is a community. It is a group of cheerleaders. It is a squad in your corner – it’s some legit #squadgoals.

Work on your doula business with friends!

We know that not everyone can afford the education necessary for their dream career. Globally, women, especially women with children in their care, miss out on educational opportunities which could lead to an earning potential. This is something that we are working to overcome at bebo mia inc.

One of the other ways our mission impacts the world is that we believe that education, especially education that will support your income, is power. Each year bebo mia inc. offers scholarship placements to women in financial need so that they can complete our Maternal Support Practitioner training and launch their doula careers.

Our next Maternal Support Practitioner training session begins Thursday September 13th, 2018 at 7pm EST. Our training runs for 15 weeks (plus a bonus week!) and covers fertility, pregnancy, the postnatal period AND business.

All of the classes are taught LIVE in our online classroom, so you can interact, ask questions, and make sure you are confident with the material. With our training taking place online it eliminates the need and costly expense for care for your children while you are in class, and did we mention the live classes are also recorded? You get to listen anytime, anywhere, which is the ideal fit for your busy schedule.

Our doula family is here to help you thrive and grow a profitable business!

Community is such a crucial aspect of our training.

The people who have graduated from our program are from all over the world and yet there is a constant feeling of closeness and connection in our classes and cohort specific Facebook support groups. We all give and receive an incredible amount of information and praise as we go through the training and beyond. It never feels like we are separated by hundreds or thousands of miles.

*We use the term ‘maternal’, rather than ‘mother’, to us, MATERNAL means ‘protective, nurturing & caring’ & includes all people who are growing  their families.

**We use the term ‘women’ in our mission and through some of our values work. We define women as women-identified, femme-presenting, two-spirited, genderqueer, trans-inclusive, gender-non-conforming, androgynous, agender, intersex, bigender, gender questioning, gender fluid, butch, non-binary, queer positive or any person that would like to be included in this definition.
